The framing was completed on Saturday and today the doors and windows were installed.

A few odds and ends need to be completed, but the framing is complete, with the exception of one window that was ordered last week – the original window would not fit in the space designed, so we went from a double hung to a casement. Anyone need an Anderson 2856 window?

As the result of a a few wall placement adjustments, we will need to swap a few of the vanities – but everyting will work in one location or another.

On Saturday the HVAC contractor came on site to measure for the duct work. It will take a week or so to fabricate. In the meantime, the cabinetmaker will stop by to take measurements so that the cabinets will fit and the plumber will complete the drain lines. Additionally, roofing will start followed by siding, then the decks.

The weather held on Wednesday and Thursday and good progress was made on the framing. On Wednesday the geothermal loop was installed – or some guys showed up and dug up the side yard just for fun!

If the schedule holds, framing will be complete on Saturday and the windows will be installed on Monday. Then on with the mechanical’s! It is very nice to see progress every day – but this will not last long.

After a washout early on Monday sent the framining crew home, Tuesday brought good progress.  As the pics show the first floor is sheathed and house wrapped, the front rooms on the second floor have walls, the garage has rafters and the porches are taking shape.  The wet weather has further delayed installation of the geothermal lateral lines (in the field).  Its starting to look like a house!

Thursday was a washout with storms moving in just after the framers got going.  On Friday they finished framing the garage walls, added the joists for the second floor and got some sheathing up on the walls.   They are scheduled to complete the framing late this week – but they will likely be finishing up early next week.  Also scheduled for this week is installation of the geothermal loop – they will be trenching in the pipes.  I have completed sourcing the plumbing lines and the tubs and showers so everything will be ready for installation at the appropriate time.
